Situation

 


Client’s customer in the oil field and energy services industry was looking to upgrade their in-house Split Tunnel Routing to SD-WAN solutions to obtain better connectivity and seamless transmission of voice and data at 68 sites in the US.

Solution

 


InTech performed site surveys to assess the current situation at each site and degree of overhaul needed in terms of circuit layout, demarc extension, wiring, and so on. InTech’s project manager worked with the client’s project manager to plan the course of action and field deployments, and InTech’s local field engineers were at each site within 48 hours. InTech also opened a public group for the client on their data management system for easy sharing of data and progress reports. Survey findings were documented and shared on the public group for the client’s review. The customer was not interested in overhauling IT rooms, so InTech procured local hardware--extension cords, power strips, power adapters—to ensure that the new equipment had reliable power during the installations phase. Field engineers installed the new hardware in compliance with local health and safety guidelines (security & NDA training, communication with field engineer during on-boarding, instruction, execution, testing of and reporting on the installation). Pre- and post-migrations reports were documented and shared on the public group for the client’s review.

Results

 


The project was completed on-time and within budget, due in part to the initial surveys that were completed in record time and that expedited the installations phase, saving the client time and effort. InTech’s public group kept the client informed and up to date every step of the way.
